Garden Party
a collection of wild new bird botanical watercolors + the free july download
Is it a sign of getting older to get excited about seeing birds? That small joy inspired this latest collection. In what’s been a nice change of pace from living on a busy city street - I now see and hear birds outside every day. I’ve started browsing bird feeders online and pausing to observe cardinals and blue jays whenever I see them. It’s made me want to go back in time to my high school ornithology class so I could really dive into identifying all the different species outside my window.
So that's where this new series began. Watching how the birds fly around and sing out loud reminded me to slow down and revel in the beauty just outside the window. Their songs became the soundtrack to mornings spent noticing butterflies dancing, frogs jumping, and all the little moments of wonder that are so easy to miss.

GARDEN PARTY
After painting a handful of birds, I painted in their garden party guests to join them—you’ll find frogs, butterflies, snails, and turtles in the works as well. There are works as small as 9x12 and works as large as 22x30. Any print can be made in a custom size too (Linking info here).
THE “HAVE A GOOD SLEEP GARDEN” BOOK
Painting this collection made me want to create the next addition to my Have a Good Sleep book series that I recently started for Margaret! We always look at this painting and tell everything in it to “have a good sleep” so these sweet books grew from that small everyday routine. This one most matches what we say every day :)
